Most interesting park. The Koreshan people thought the earth was inside out and thats all that existed. Where are there more interesting parks like this?

Koreshan State Historic Site is a comfortable campground. I like the spacious lots to RV and tent camp. The bathrooms are plush and clean. Great place to ride bikes and canoe. We enjoyed the historical walk through the century old buildings located on the grounds. Although we were located near stores for shopping convenience the grounds were free of any city noise.

I used to live 10 minutes away from this park, and never went. Visited a few weeks ago to see some friends who live nearby (I just moved to Tennessee) and I forgot how much parks cost in Florida! The park ranger at the front was very helpful, but even he could help the trails. They weren't marked very well and were "there and back" trails instead of loops which I prefer (that way you aren't running into as many people). Cool historical aspect and very knowledgeable volunteers and workers!

Koreshan State Park plays it very straight, soberly explaining “the Koreshan Unity believed that the entire universe existed within a giant, hollow sphere.” Cyrus Reed Teed the founder was an eclectic physician whose experiments in alchemy often involved dangerously high levels of electricity. This is the 1936 barn-sized generator, which produced electricity for the settlement during its final years.

This park is a hidden gem. All the sites are semi tropical and private. Lots to do in the area as well.
